The Chisinau City Hall announces that, in connection with the “Chisinau Marathon 2026” sporting event taking place in the capital’s city center, traffic will be temporarily restricted as follows:
September 12, 2026, at 1:10 a.m. – September 13, 2026, at 7:00 p.m., traffic will be suspended on Stefan cel Mare și Sfânt, on the section between Mitropolit Gavriil Bănulescu-Bodoni Street and Alexandr Pușkin Street.
September 13, 2026, 2:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m., for the duration of the race, traffic will also be temporarily suspended on the streets included in the marathon’s main route: on Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard, the section between Toma Ciorbă Street and Ciuflea Street, and on Ciuflea Street – Dacia Boulevard (viaduct), in the direction of the city center.
During the restrictions, public transportation will operate on modified or shortened routes, and service will be temporarily suspended on some routes.
These measures are necessary for the 13th edition of the “Chișinău Marathon,” organized by A.O. “SPORTER” Sports Club, in collaboration with the Chisinau City Hall, the National Triathlon Federation of the Republic of Moldova, the Sports for All Federation, and “SIMPALS” S.R.L.
Thus, on September 12, 2026, during the period when restrictions are in effect on Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard, on the section between Mitropolit Gavriil Bănulescu-Bodoni Street and Alexandr Pușkin Street, public transportation will be rerouted as follows:
Trolleybuses:
The routes for lines 1, 5, and 8 will be modified as follows: Outbound – from Constantin Negruzzi Boulevard onto Ciuflea Street, Bucharest Street, Alexei Șciusev Street, Mihai Viteazul Street, Columna Street, Henrie Coandă Street, Dimitrie Cantemir Square, and then continuing along the established routes; return trip—from Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard via Alexei Șciusev Street, București Street, Ciuflea Street, Constantin Negruzzi Boulevard, and then continuing along the established routes;
The route for Route No. 4 is modified as follows: outbound—from Constantin Negruzzi Blvd. along Ciuflea St., București St., and then continuing along the established route; return – from Vasile Lupu Street onto Constantin Stere Street, Mihail Kogălniceanu Street, Serghei Lazo Street, Alexei Mateevici Street, Alexandr Pușkin Street, Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard, and then continuing along the established route;
The route of Bus No. 22 is modified as follows: outbound—from Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard onto Alexei Șciusev Street, București Street, Dacia Boulevard, and continuing along the established route; return—from Dacia Boulevard Dacia Boulevard onto Bucharest Street, Alexei Șciusev Street, Mihai Viteazul Street, Columna Street, Henri Coandă Street, Dimitrie Cantemir Square, and then continuing along the established route;
The route of bus line No. 34 is modified as follows: outbound—from Ștefan cel Mare și Sfînt Boulevard onto Vasile Alecsandri Street, Bucharest Street, Alexei Șciusev Street, Mihai Viteazul Street, Columna Street, Henrie Coandă Street, Dimitrie Cantemir Square, and then continuing along the established route; return – from Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard onto Alexei Șciusev Street, București Street, and Ciuflea Street.

On September 13, 2026, between 2:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., traffic will be suspended on the streets included in the marathon’s main route, as well as on Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard, between Toma Ciorbă Street and Ciuflea Street, and on Ciuflea Street–Dacia Boulevard Dacia (viaduct), in the direction of the city center.
For public transportation, the right lane on Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Blvd. Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt, between Ciuflea Street and Ismail Street, heading toward the city center, will be reserved for bus routes 18, 33, 44, and 49, and trolleybus routes 30 and 37.
Under these circumstances, public transportation routes will be modified, shortened, or, where applicable, temporarily suspended, as follows:
Trolleybuses:
The route for No. 1 will be shortened to Mihai Viteazul Street as follows: Outbound – Tudor Vladimirescu Street, Constituției Street, Ion Creangă Street, Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard (up to the intersection with Mihai Viteazul Street); outbound – Mihai Viteazul Street, Columna Street, Henri Coandă Street, Ion Creangă Street, Constituției Street, Tudor Vladimirescu Street;
The route for Route No. 2 is modified as follows: from Gh. Asachi Street onto Pan Halippa Street, Ismail Street, București Street, Dacia Boulevard, and then continuing along the established route;
The routes for lines 4, 5, and 20 will be shortened to the Train Station (with a return trip via Constantin Negruzzi Square);
The routes of lines 7, 10, 12, 16, 25, and 32 will be shortened to Columna Street;
Service on routes 8, 24, and 28 is suspended;
The route for Route No. 9 will be modified as follows: from Gh. Asachi Street to Vasile Alecsandri Street, A. Mateevici Street, A. Pushkin Street, Bucharest Street, Mitropolit G. Bănulescu-Bodoni Street, A. Mateevici Street, Vasile Alecsandri Street, and then continuing along the established route;

The route for Route No. 5 is modified as follows: outbound—from Dacia Blvd. Dacia Boulevard to Trandafirilor Street, Decebal Boulevard, Iu. Gagarin Boulevard, Albișoara Street, Renașteri Naționale Boulevard, and then continuing along the established route; return trip—from Renașteri Naționale Boulevard to Albișoara Street, Iu. Gagarin, Decebal Blvd., Trandafirilor St., Dacia Blvd., and then continuing along the established route;
The route for Bus No. 9 is modified as follows: outbound—from Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard via A. Șciusev, București Street, Tighina Street, and then continuing along the established route; return trip—from Ismail Street onto București Street, A. Șciusev Street, Mihai Viteazul Street, Columna Street, and H. Coandă Street;
The itinerary for Route No. 11 is modified as follows: from Ismail Street via Bucharest Street, A. Șciusev Street, Mihai Viteazul Street, Columna Street, H. Coandă Street, Ion Creangă Street, and then continuing along the established route. The terminus of Route No. 11 is being moved from Ismail Street to H. Coandă Street;
The route of Route No. 14 will be shortened to București Street, as follows: Outbound — from Alexandr Pușkin Street to București Street, Mitropolit Gavriil Bănulescu-Bodoni Street, Alexei Mateevici Street, Vasile Alecsandri Street, and then continuing along the established route; Return - is shortened to the intersection of Alexandr Pușkin Street and București Street;
The route of Bus No. 23 is shortened to the intersection of Dacia Boulevard and Hristo Botev Street;
The route for Buses No. 24 and No. 39 is modified as follows: outbound—from Tighina Street onto Columna Street, Ismail Street, and then continuing along the established route, - the route is shortened to the existing terminus for bus routes No. 31 and 38 on Tighina Street, between Alexandru cel Bun Street and Columna Street;
Route No. 26 is established as follows: outbound—from Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard via Mihai Viteazul Street, Albișoara Street, Renașteri Naționale Boulevard, and continuing along the established route; return—from Renașteri Naționale along Grigore Vieru Boulevard, Ierusalim Street, Petru Rareș Street, Albișoara Street, Mihai Viteazul Street, Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard, and continuing along the established route;
The route for Route No. 46 is shortened to the University of Medicine and Pharmacy, as follows: from Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard onto Mihai Viteazul Street, Columna Street, and H. Coandă Street.
Minibuses:
Route No. 103: outbound—from Ștefan cel Mare și Sfânt Boulevard onto A. Șciusev Street, București Street, the viaduct, Dacia, Trandafirilor Street, Decebal Boulevard, N. Titulescu Street, and then continuing along the established route; return—along the established route;
Route No. 178 will be shortened from the Telecentru neighborhood to București Street, as follows: from Ismail Street via București, Tighina, M. Kogălniceanu, and Ismail Streets, and then continuing along the established route;
Routes No. 120, 169, 186, and 191: will be split into two sections and will run to the city center, specifically: from the Telecentru and Malina Mică districts, they will travel along Ismail Street, turning onto Bucharest Street, Tighina Street, A. Mateevici Street, and Ismail Street, and then continue along their established routes; from the Ciocana and Râșcani sectors—from Ismail Street onto Alexandru cel Bun Street, Tighina Street, Columna Street, Ismail Street, and then continue along their established routes.
Drivers passing through neighborhoods where road closures have been announced are urged to avoid the affected area.
